Local, It's not just us...
Updated: Aug 24
In our last post Kathleen Bowes and I cited there are about 4,000 households in the Union City Borough and Township. This is according to the 2020 Census. There is an average of 2 people in each household, so a population of 8,000ish. The Buzz of UC Café does on average 2,500 tickets per month, most of those being daily/weekly repeat customers/single person drive thru with a considerable portion being out of towners (outside the Borough/Township) traveling through. So, closing the gap to 8,000, even with the transient traffic, seems a challenge.
We wonder… what can we do to attract more customers, especially the locals; is it our menu, our service, our facility, our quality, our open hours, awareness that we are here or what we offer? If you have an idea, reach out to us privately so we may consider it. We welcome your input, comment below!
If most of the 8,000 people in our community would visit us about once a month, our business would be here to stay, no question. If we did that for all of our local businesses, just think what our downtown could look like! The next time you are out and about on a mission to buy, think about where you’re headed… is there a local business that can provide what you’re looking for; must you travel to the big box store, or visit the BigMc chain or, I dare not say, *buck coffee shop this time?
When you spend your money at a locally owned business you do a ton to support your local economy. Did you know when you buy from The Buzz of UC Cafe you not only support us and our employees, but also a local dairy, a local roaster, a local beekeeper, our local hardware store, our local apparel shop, a local tech shop, a local landscaper, and more, not to forget all of the local organizations for which we provide fundraising support! Yes, we support local, and we are suggesting all of our community, all of you, do the same. If you haven’t been to visit us yet, you’re invited, and we hope to see you soon!
